no emails being sent from WordPress

  • I have checked previous posts, and found no resolution.

    For some months now, I have not received any email notifications when comments come in. Now I find that new user registration emails are not going out, nor am I receiving notification emails that new users are registering, even though they appear in the “users” page.

    I would be very grateful for any advice or assistance.

  • Have you tried having the notifications going to a different email address – such as a Gmail address – to see if they go through? Perhaps your email provider considers these bulk messages spam and they’re not getting through to you.

    The other possibility would be related to your host’s mail settings – if the previous test doesn’t work, I would contact your host to find out what kinds of server restrictions they have around scripts sending out automated messages.

    Thanks. I have tried 4 different email addresses, none goes through.

    I have two other blogs hosted by the same server. Emails go through ok with them. It just seems to be this one site.

    Hmm – that is mysterious. I assume you’ve already double-checked everything in your settings to make sure that email notifications are activated everywhere. I can’t think of anything else other than trying a WP reinstall. Good luck!
