• Hey Guys,

I have installed your pluginn and enter all the settings, trying the testmail which works. However when I test it by entering a comment on my website, no emails are received. I don’t receive an email with the question if I want to sign up for comments. When I manually subscribe through wordpress, I also don’t receive emails when a comment is placed. I checked the spambox….nothing there :-).

I have no idea what went wrong. I used a no-reply@emailadres which off course doesn’t exits, but since you use the wordpress mailserver, I guess, that’s not the problem.

Can you give me some advice where to look to tackle this problem. Or if you need some more information, let me know.

    Grtz,
    Ruud

  • @ruudholland Hey Ruud,

Most WordPress email delivery issues are related to the server where WordPress is installed not properly delivering emails to the appropriate mail servers. The best way to avoid issues like that is to authenticate all outgoing email, using something like your GMail account. Comment Mail Pro has a built-in feature to allow configuring an external SMTP Server, but you can also use a plugin like WP-Mail-SMTP.

    Hey Raam,

Thanx for your quick reply. I’m going to try that and see if I can make our active members happy with an automatically send mail about a reply on their comment.

    Grtz,
    Ruud

    Hello Raam,

For some strange reason, part of the mailing is working. I installed the WP-Mail-Smtp plugin. However still no emails were send. I disabled it. And after i few days I got a reaction from someone she had received a (comment mail) mail about an update.

Strange thing is that the confirmation mails don’t arrive after subscribing. I also noticed that after changing some of the mail html code, no mails were send anymore. I tried to figure out what happened, but after resetting all and changing the mail-parts one-by-one, it just worked again. To me, I used the same html, but hey, who knows I changed something :-).

Any explanations for this or something I could look at?
