Hi, i just installed the plugin and added some events but they are not showing on the web page where I have the short code in. The page says “No events found”.

    Please advise.

    Hi,

Did you check the installation notes?

Sorry Marcel, I just realised the published date is to be a date later than published date itself. Now it works. Thanks for the quick response!

How does one get the calendar widget you have on your demo page where one only lists some of the events on the right column of your demo page ?

You can go to Appearance > Widgets and add the widget to a sidebar.

You might use blocks instead of widgets? There is no block available for this plugin.
I am not really a fan of the block editor, and in the first few years, backwards compatibility seemed not to be important. Maybe I do need to take a look now, things might be better.

I am using the classic editor for my pages but when I try to add the widget under Appearance, I do get the default “Block” editor and am unsure how i can force classic editor mode for that.

Ah, yes, that is interesting ??

There is a plugin Classic Widgets that you might prefer:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/classic-widgets/

But it works also without that plugin.
There are widget-area’s. Click on the button with “+” on it. Then click on “See all”. Then in that extra bar there is a group for classic widgets.

    Can you manage?

By the way, I am thinking of adding shortcodes for widgets, so they can be added to the block editor. That way, a widget shortcode would have similar html output as a classic widget, but then in a block.

    Hi again,

I installed the plugin since the other option did not work (ie there is no “see all” option).

I am using the twenty seventeen theme and I am using a static page as start page so adding widget to the theme will not work. It did work when i temporarily converted it to a blog page.

So probably a widget or short code that works in a page that will only list the top # events would be nice.

Hi, there is now a shortcode added. Could you try it out and let me know if it works for you?
You can add the shortcode to a shortcode block.
For some reason wpautop() is used on it, so everything is wrapped inside a p element. I don’t have any clue how to get around that. This block stuff is not very much to my taste.

    The shortcode has attributes like:
    [super_simple_event_calendar_widget title="My Special Calendar shortcode block" num_entries="5" season="1071" postid="28921"]
The season parameter can be left off. The postid parameter is the postid of the calendar page.

Good to hear, thank you ??

I just released 2.1.0 with this.
I will wait a bit for feedback, then I might change more plugins and widgets in this way.

Happy New Year to you as well ??
