• Dear Robert,
I had the same issue, only in one feed. The others did work, but that feed, I don’t know whay had the same issue : no event loading.
I tried to reduce the number of events, to show it by days, reducing as well the number of days to be shown;
The only idea I had, is that my feed having an issue, has a number of items a little bit huge. (5 items at week at least), so for one year >= 150.
Is it the same for you ? And if so, question for Phil/Nick, is there a threshold of events whihc is defined somewhere which may cause a confusion in the release 2.04 ?

Hi Vincent,

My feed has many more than 5 items a week, usually more than 5 items a day. It is a big feed, but never had issues with its size before.

I’m assuming the issue is likely due to the change in method from a to/from date range to the pagination/offset type range.

I’ve downgraded the plugin to 2.0.3.1 and my feed is back working. Others have complained about the recent changes, but I’ve been happy with them up to the point where it seems to break ??

As a note, after downgrading, the cached feed from the later version was displayed which showed from January onwards, rather than from today onwards. After resetting the cache the downgraded plugin showed the correct date range. This suggests to me that the new version is pulling the incorrect date range, and probably not pulling events from today onwards (causing no events to show). Only a hunch though.

Thanks.

I’ve having the same problem. I’ve tried with a different calendar feed and it works fine, but with the calander which has many events each day, nothing is showing with the new release.

Could you help me firstly by explaining how I can downgrade easily so see if me feed will be back working again. Many thanks.

I downloaded the previous version from here:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/google-calendar-events/developers/

Then just replaced the plugin files via FTP with those in the zip. Clear cache and refresh the page.

it sounds (at least on my site), that the issue is related to button clicked “Expand reccuring Events” Yes/No.
If you click the box, events disappear,
if you unclick the events, it appear;

In fact, with Google, my events are “repeating”… A mess for instance is several days a week, or each week.

Does the confusion coming from this, I don’t know.

Thanks.
Reverting back to 2.0.3.1 has resolved the problem for me.

I have the same problem (and the same solution). Also linked to “recurring events”

@vincentbray To answer your question first about thresh holds. The calendar will pull events from 1 year back to 5 years forward and a max of 1000 events.

For those that have updated and are having issues. Did you make sure that all your settings got carried over correctly? Like the recurring events option and multiple day events? Maybe also try clearing the cache for your feeds, just as an added test.

@robertshippey The plguin now pulls data a bit differently and uses an offset for the start time, which will default to the current day. So it should be working properly.

>>For those that have updated and are having issues. Did you make sure that all your settings got carried over correctly? >>

I had been bitten by a minor problem during upgrading before; you will find the message and the impressively fast correction on this forum and in the revision report. Really great support!

Therefore, I checked and tested several alternatives; the change in definition was mentioned in the upgrade message.

And it looks like it really has to do with the ‘repeating’ setting.

This is the public feed:

<div class=”gce-list-event gce-tooltip-event”>[event-title] [location]

[if-not-all-day][start-time] – [end-time][/if-not-all-day]

[if-description] Details[/if-description]

And the previous version running on

Are you still having issues after the 2.0.5 release?

If you are can you post me the feed URL link you are using?

I am looking into a possible issue based on the Feed URL link and if you are having problems it could be related to that so the more data I can collect about it the better I can be at preparing a fix.

Thank you all for your patience on this!

Sorry to say: Yes, I tried the 2.05 and did not get it to work under any condition, i.e I tried all variants combinations in the settings. See above, it should be reproducible, the feed is public.
And I definitively cleared the cache every time.
Currently, the page is reverted to 03

As a strange side effect, the Back/Next links are always displayed, even when deselected, but nothing else turns up. Looks like there are some vestiges from previous versions around?

Dear Nick,
Unfortunatly not…

Still the same issue. To show recurring events (Mass for instance), you need to unclick the button “Reccuring Events extended”.

url of the feed for instance is
https://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/[email protected]/public/full

Then, if your are in a list, it’s shown, but after this I have a page with all the feeds, and the feed here above doesn’t appear.

I’ve clear the cache
Sorry about this, I don’t see any kind of solution..

Kind regards and thanks a lot for your very kind support !!

Vincent

And it sounds release 2.05 is not working anymore with the plugin “Tabby Responsive Tabs”.

The page with the calendar in grid was showing the calendar one after the other, not anymore in tabs. and the items were not showing..
But maybe it’s because 2.05 is giving us more functionnalities and tabby is no more necessary.

Please do apologize, I came back to 2.03.1 as the site is in production.
I am not sure to have enough time next week to have a deeper look in this (budget time…)

Kind regards
Vincent
