At the dashboard I get: Your search did not match any history events. The search input field is empty

If a enter an argument – like user – it shows the corresponding events

If I rolle back to 4.17.0 everything works correctly

  • Same.

    Same thing here as well.

    Thanks for the bug report!

I am unfortunately unable to reproduce this so far. Any chance you could provide some more information about your setups?

Could you for example provide: what version of wp you are using? What version of php? If you have any other plugins installed? And what web browser and version you are using.

    Thanks!

I dumped my cache in Edge and now I can see everything I am supposed to.

    Same here,

Dumped cache in chrome and still no info shown.

Same here, but I can export the entire log from setting, so the log is still there.

Also, I got error message from WordPress. This might help fixing the bug.

Thanks @nobo73, that helps a lot. I think I have found the reason for this and an update will be issued as soon as possible.

After I entered an @ in the search field, it started to work!

    Even after relogging.

Same here. Anyone recommend a replacement plugin that works?

I have just released a minor update of Simple History (version 5.0.1) that addresses an issue with gravatars.

@nobo73 can you check if the issue you had is solved? Your post was of great help to track this error down.

@robertpowellj @vtad Can you check if the fix solved your problems too?

@terryfrum There are many other plugins available. Search for WordPress and Activity Log or WordPress and Audit Log and you will find some good ones.

    Fix works perfectly!

    @eskapism
Hi, Thank you very much for your rapid fix.
Yeah, it seems the bug is gone. The logs are all available, including the period when the plugin was blacked-out due to the bug.
    I appreciate your support!

I tried the update, but I’m still not getting any logs shown, although they are being recorded.

If I rollback to 4.17.0, it works with no issues.

Thanks for the screenshot @theape. It looks like it can’t find the REST API endpoint.

Do you have any plugins installed that modify the REST API in any way or perhaps some security plugin that may block requests somehow?
