No events visible

  • Hello,

    with this plugin, I can see the posts, that works fine.
    But I’m unable to see the events.
    I used:

    [custom-facebook-feed type=events eventsource=timeline pastevents=true]

    and

    [custom-facebook-feed type=events eventsource=events pastevents=true]

    but both don’t give any results.
    Other posts I can see, but not the events.
    I (page owner) created events, other users created events.

  • Hey bschelst,

    To display your Events feed. You will need to be the administrator of the account and you will want to follow the steps from the following FAQ here to obtain a Page Access Token which is needed.

    A Page access token is different from the general access token you can obtain from within the plugin settings itself.

    If you have already have an existing Facebook App for the Facebook Page account you want to display events from you can start at step 11 in the FAQ. Once you have the Access Token you DO NOT want to replace the current access token that is in the main plugin settings page. Instead, you will want to add the access token directly to the shortcode for the events feed like so:

    [custom-facebook-feed type=events accesstoken=”ENTER_YOUR_ACCESS_TOKEN_HERE” eventsource=eventspage]

    The reason the events are not being displayed with the current access token is due to privacy settings in place by Facebook, the access token generated by our plugin cannot be used to display events as it requires an admin to create a Facebook App.
