• Using WordPress V.63 with Twenty Twenty-Three Theme Version: 1.2.

When manually adding a excerpt, the data doesn’t appear to be saved in the database. I would expect it to be saved in the post_excerpt field of the database, but that remains empty.

I don’t know what should happen when leaving the excerpt blank, so I can’t comment on that.

All post_excerpts are empty in the database

    Hey @computergenius,

Thanks for reporting that – it definitely sounds like an odd one. If you don’t mind me asking – could you please check a couple of other things for me?

    • Does the issue still occur with all plugins disabled?
    • If you switch to another default theme (like TwentyTwentyTwo) does the issue still occur?

I also just wanted to clarify whether the excerpt saves at all in any circumstances, or if it always remains empty.
