• At first this plugin didn’t work for me until the plugin author responded and told me I needed to setup a Facebook app and put the App ID for it in this plugin’s settings page. I had no idea I needed to do that, so at first I was stumped. I’m still giving the app five stars because once you know about this step, it is very plug-and-play. Works great.

Hi, did you add the facebook app id in the settings page?

Sorry, I’m not familiar with Facebook apps and how they work. I didn’t notice there was a new settings page for this plugin, so thanks for pointing that out. When I go there I see this instruction: “Create a new app and paste App Id here”

Unfortunately I don’t know exactly how to “create a new app.”

For future reference, you might want to amend your plugin description which says all a user has to do is activate the plugin and it just works. And maybe mention this step. Believe it or not, there are plenty of us out there who haven’t worked directly with Facebook apps. ??

Googling for this, I see I have to create a developer account in order to set the app up. I assume there is no other way to do any kind of Facebook login integration, but it does seem tedious. I realize this is out of your control, though.

But again, you might want to mention this in your plugin description and/or FAQ as a dependency.

Okay, I went through the process with creating a Facebook app and although it wasn’t totally intuitive, it also wasn’t a big deal. Given a user has done this, than your plugin works as described.

Hi David, It should be more clear and I updated the readme pointing to the cofiguration url which is https://timersys.com/facebook-login/docs/configuration/
