No file change mails (mails in general work)

    Hi,

    on my two wordpress sites the file change notification mails do not work. Although there are file changes, no mail is ever sent.

    If I enable the summary mail, this will indeed be sent and it includes the note about the file changes. Also lockout notifications are sent.

    ONLY the file changes (which is the only thing I really want/need) is not working.

    ANY ideas would be appreciated ??

  • Make sure you have ticked the “Email file change notifications” checkbox in the “File Change Detection” section on the Settings page.
    (But this is probably the case otherwise the digest email would not mention anything about file change detection).

    Make sure you are using the latest iTSec plugin release (4.6.10).

    Perhaps the email is filtered as spam on your email server …

    One other thing. A manual “Scan Files Now” scan will never send an email.
    Instead, if changes are found after scanning, you are automatically taken to the logs page for details.

    Only a scheduled scan will send an email.

    I added a different mail account and deactivated all Spam filters. There is nothing coming in. If I fallback to the summary, it is however working ??

    It turns out the Email Lockout Notifications setting in the Global Settings section needs to be enabled for the File Change Detection (FCD) email(s) to be send …

    Doesn’t make any sense but it’s really necessary for FCD emails to be send …

    It’s been a while but I would be very interested to hear whether this resolves your issue.

    If not and the issue persists in the latest iTSec plugin release (4.9.0) we can try and debug the issue.
