There is a disturbing lack of action and filter hooks in this plugin (actually there is ZERO).

I wanted to change the URL that the user is redirected to if they close the popup (the cancel url) as it was automatically redirecting people back to the cart page.

On this particular site the cart page is skipped, we direct people straight to the checkout. I don’t want people redirected to the cart page at all.

Something like this should be easily filtered.

There’s also a lot of points in the plugin that I’d consider appropriate for action hooks, like after payment approval, on cancel, on refund, etc. Developers should be able to hook in and provide additional functionality at these points.

I highly encourage you to add as many actions and filters as you can to the code so we devs can increase third party compatibility.

Given PayPal’s big push to getting people onto PayPal Express and away from PayPal Website Payments Standard I’d expect this would be a priority, right?

    Cheers,
    Josh

  • I’m working with PayPal/team to get the repo opened up to the public. When that happens, you’ll be able to submit or request new filters from Github.

    Hey Mike,

That would be awesome mate thanks.

I’ve also raised a few issues directly with the PayPal team as they’re promoting this heavily at the moment (I’ve been contacted twice already in the last few weeks).

Appreciate your attention, I know you’re a busy dude.

    Cheers,
    Josh
