No Follow and a redirect to the Home Page

    Id like to know if I redirect obsolete posts (posts and pages deleted from the wordpress website) and pages from a previous website all to my homepage ?

    So that the user and Googles crawl bots dont see a 404 when clicking an old or obsolete link will selecting No Follow on that “quick redirect” . . . jeopardize the indexing of the home page ?

    Silly question I guess but Im sure there are a few people who would be redirecting to the homepage . . . and it crosses their mind about not selecting “No Follow” incase it effects the home page indexing and everything off it ?
