Just a question: the forecast display a temperature that are a bit lower that the temperature we actually have in our country…but which is the meaning? the min temperature of the day? i this case they are ok….but i think you should display the max temperature no?

    thank you very much

    Hi

The days are working now, thank you, but the temperatures shown are wrong. The widget says:

    11°Thu
    15°Fri
    16°Sat

    Actual website https://openweathermap.org/city/2653197 says:

    Thu 12 Oct 14.5 °C 15.3 °C
    Fri 13 Oct 17.7 °C 16.8 °C
    Sat 14 Oct 17.7 °C 13.3 °C

Not high or low or average…

The weather data is coming back from OpenWeatherMaps as a list of weather every 3 hours. Currently, I am grabbing the first item in the list, which I assume is the first weather of the day and this is why the temps are lower.

To fix, I can simply grab the max temp from that time, or loop over the whole day and grab an average of that day which may make the best data but would possibly be different than what is shown on the openweathermap website.

I assume the extended forecast on their site comes from the 16-day weather API which is not included with the FREE OpenWeatherMap account.

    Thoughts? Does this make sense?

    Hi Hal

I think I understand the problem and if it is possible, my preference would be for the max temp for the day. Seems the most logical somehow, but others may disagree.

Thank you again for persevering with this.

    best wishes

HI, i think the best solution for us would be show the min/max temp, no average. that because the final “customer”, at least here in Europe, is used to read tv forecast, just having that couple of value, not the average…. i tell you this because the risk is that the average will be read as the max temp of the day forecast…

    my two cents ??

    Angelo

I would also like the max temp if possible please Hal.

Sorry, not v technical, Hal. Would it be worth swapping your data feed to another provider? I only suggest this as I’ve temporarily changed my weather widget to one that takes data from https://www.weather-atlas.com.

I’m hoping to be able to swap back when you have resolved the issues, as there are a number of things I much prefer in your Awesome Weather Widget.

I will switch it to the max_temp. Thanks for the feedback.

@ampeli My PRO version has 2 other options available Yahoo and Weather Underground: https://halgatewood.com/downloads/awesome-weather-widget-pro
