• Forgot my password and need to reset it for my blog https://www.toltoys.com , when I go to admin login page and there is no link for a forgotten password. Even when I enter my username and a dummy password it doesn’t come up with a “Forget your password” prompt.

    Any ideas appreciated!

I have login lockdown installed on the blog if that is relevant.

    Cheers,

    Will

Thanks very much Ben, I’ve just tried it both with email and username and it says “Password reset is not allowed for this user”

My wordpress.com page is telling me I need to update Jetpack “Jetpack 3.3 is required to take full advantage of plugin management in https://www.toltoys.com.Update now” but obviously I can’t update it because I can’t login, catch 22?

I’d take a guess that the login lockdown plugin may be preventing you from resetting your password. If you have FTP access, navigate to wp-content/plugins and rename the login-lockdown directory to BACKUP-login-lockdown. This should force the plugin to be disabled. Once you have reset your password and logged in again, you can rename the directory back to it’s original and enable the plugin again.

Thanks again, it’s getting beyond my technical knowledge now so I think I’ll get some pro help to sort it out. Cheers!
