First of all THANKS FOR THIS AMAZING PLUGIN!!!

I have a question though. I use several different CF7 forms on my site. For example: contact form, quick contact and newsletter signup.

The event is triggered fine all events, so that’s great.

However, no FormID or Formname from a specific CF7 is sent with the event gtm4wp.contactForm7Submitted. These can be found in WordPress under the Contact Form 4 section. Each form has a name and number.

Can these numbers or names be passed as formid or formname with your event: event gtm4wp.contactForm7Submitted? Because for each different form sent with CF4, I need to set a different event in GTM.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your suggestion.
I will look into it since this is a reasonable need from your point of view.

    Hi Thomas,

I have moved on to fast secure contact form, since CF7 is slowing my site down…

However, I will install it on my testserver again and will run some tests for you next week, because I really, really appreciate all your support and service. Thanks!

Thanks, by the way: which plugin are you using now?

Oooooh so this is the name of the plugin, sorry :-))

Lol, yes, but not a problem and certainly no sorry needed!

Any chance there will be an event contactformsubmitted for that contact form plugin too in the future? Like CF4, it is one of the most used contact form plugins for wordpress…

Not sure this is working: See here https://prntscr.com/9mczbi

    formID: ‘(no form ID)’,
    formName: ‘(no form name)’,

    Hi Thomas,

As promised I have been testing a lot yesterday.

It still is not working as it should. At least, not all the time. On different forms, sometimes it does return a formid, other times I have no formid to work with, but the formid is mentioned in the form url. And sometimes, there just is no mention of the formid anywhere.

However, because of your adjustments, the thing that I wanted, can still be achieved. Because in Preview and Debug mode of GTM, I could see that ‘gtm4wp.cf7formid’ was pushed to the datalayer on all cf4 forms, which includes the formid of course.

So in GTM, I created a variable for the gtm4wp.cf7formid datalayer value. I then used that variable as a condition for a certain form in the gtm4wp.contactForm7Submitted event. All is working very well now.

I would like to thank you so much! Great help!

This has made me go back to CF4 from FS Contact Form.

One question. Can you achieve something similar to this for the ‘standard’ wordpress forms. Like the reactions people post on blog posts or product review people give for products.

The default wp forms do not seem to have a formsumbit event. I have solved it for now by selecting the click event and set the formid to’submit’ and filter on pageposttype to know weather or not a productreview or a normal blogcomment was sent. However, this is trigered before validation. And with your great solution for CF4, it would be great if something similar would be possible for the standard wp reactions and product reviews.

Anyway, let me know your findings on the CF4 and thanks again!
