No forward and back arrows with WordPress 4.4. Lightbox

WordPress 4.4 doesn’t include a lightbox. I suspect it’s actually a feature of your theme, or being added by a plugin.

OK, but when I click on an image, it automatically resizes to fit my browser window. Is this a feature of wordpress?

I have disabled the Lightbox plus Colorbox add-on.

If you click on an image, it will open fullscreen, but to view the next image I have to press the browser back button and then click on that one.

The images are linked straight to the image file, https://evening-sun.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/XT1F1035.jpg and clicking it simply loads that image file in the browser.

A lightbox would actually be a page itself which loads the image along with additional features, like navigation. There’s no navigation in this case, and you have to click the back button in your browser, because it’s literally just the JPEG.

Do you know of a plugin that would display these images in the same fullscreen size, and have navigation arrows as well?

I haven’t used any myself though, so I can’t recommend any specific ones.
