• We are using Give (and some of the paid plugins) for over a year now.

Generally it works at promised, BUT

    1. The new and all shiny “multi-step donation forms” are using Google Fonts build in. Support has added a change request to integrated an “off switch” for Google Fonts. A clear no go for EU based organizations as this violates the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation – data protection law in Europe). So we are forced to stick to the old “legacy forms” which is a major bummer.
    2. There is no multi-language support for the recurring donations (and other add ons). So if you feel sending German donors a subscription reminder they need to learn English first. Also a change request was added by support “for future implementation, if there is demand”.
    3. The German translation is rather funny – and can not be used in a professional environment. Probably a machine translation or very unprofessional. Mixing up important terms like “Terms and Conditions”, “Terms of Use”, “Condition” – all on one page. Even worse: ALL paid plugins are not translated in at all. So if you need to get your hands on translations yourself.
    4. UTF8 characters appear with their unicode code (? = U+00E4) on screen sometimes. One needs to work around by not using umlaut representations.

But the premium support is really nice, very responsive and helpful. Five stars for the support – but 1 star for the lacking international and GDPR support.

To sum up: Maybe a great plugin if used in English spoken countries with no need for bi-lingual support and where data protection laws are not as strict – but unfortunately it’s not made for European requirements…
