• Learnpress has the potential to excel as a LMS, but unfortunately there are too many glitches, errors and mistakes in LearnPres to recommend it.
There are too many strings that can’t be translated using for instance the excellent LOCO translate plugin.
Too often it’s necessary to go into template files and find the string there to translate it.
After Thimpress team released the new 4.* version things have begun to fall apart.
To mention just a few errors and non-functionality:
    – The “Buy course” button doesn’t work…
    – A lot of the Ajax functionality doesn’t work.
    – Sidebar widgets does work.
It just takes too many hours of manual customizing inside the code.
    No good!

    Hi,

    1. LearnPress 4.0 has added a lot of function and text so the translated file will have change. You can read here to translate all text
Step 1: Please go to Loco Translate -> Settings -> Skip PHP files larger than: up to 800KB Number of backups to keep of each file: 0 -> Save
Step 2: Please go to Loco Translate -> plugin -> Eduma Learnpress plugin -> Edit template -> Sync -> Save.
Step 3: Go to file translate of the plugin -> Edit -> Sync -> Save -> find text you need then change -> Save.
Note: Please choose location translate file is System
    2. LearnPress don’t have any widgets and sidebar so I think the problem not related to LearnPress.
    3. With the issue related to the Ajax and Buy course button don’t work, you can create a ticket to our team can check and fix it for you.
We really hope you can help me change the rating now. It’s really important to us. Very appreciate your help.

    Thanks

    Hi Briantp,
I do realise that my criticism is harsh, but I spent several workdays trying to figure out how to get LearnPress to play nice.
As I said, I think LearnPress has a lot of potential – but to me the plugin seems to be only half-baked.
I would however like to give you the benefit of the doubt and therefore when I have the time I will set up a clean test install of LearnPress on WordPress’ default theme with nothing else in the installation.
Then we will see how that goes.
    cheers
    P.

    Hi,
Well, now I’ve set up a fresh clean install of WP and LearnPress and Loco translate.

It is not possible to translate the four tabs

    Overview
    Curriculum
    Instructor
    Reviews

on a course page front page.

It may be some mistake I’m doing, but I have strictly followed the guide you have written above in this thread.

So unless you can come up with a solution on how to translate LearnPress, I will stick with my review.

    best P.

    Hi Brian,

I think I got it working now!

I am going to do further tests and see what happens when I change theme and install more plugins.

But if things are going well I promise you I will change my review to a more positive one. ??

    best

    P.
