No Google Pagespeed Improvement

    Hello,

    Is this plugin also supposed to improve pagespeed performance as compared to just doing a normal YouTube embed. If so, I sure haven’t seen it. Actually, scores dropped when using Presto Player. Tested serveral times.

    Hi There,

    Are you using our YouTube Optimized preset? This delays the loading of Youtube until the play button is clicked. Also, be sure you are not autoplaying video as this will bypass the lazy loading feature.

    Yes, I see a noticeable difference now, but I had to figure out that just choosing the “Presto YouTube” block does not automatically optimize it for YouTube, and that I had to open the block settings and scroll down to the video presets and select “YouTube Optimized”. So unless I missed something, I never saw this crucial detail in any instructions. Anyway, it works, thanks!
