No Icons to Add in Social Icons Block

    Hi

    I had saved my own social icons block and they looked too small (in the newest WP version? I didn’t notice). I deleted the block thinking I can just remake them. Well, I can add “social icon” block but there is NO icon to choose from, most of the time the “+” doesn’t appear in the block. Then the block disappears even though on tool bar it registers as a social icon block.

    Also in Jet Pack/Marketing/Sharing Buttons area it’s total blank (nothing to work with), also the sharing function (use to have many apps people can use to share blog posts) – all gone.

    WP is still telling me to do something about persistent object caching (even though my simple website was running fine. My hosting company Blue Host rep told me to install W3Total Cache plugin, which I had deleted after a day. I saw on google that the plugin might have damaged my css files?

    I am not a techie and have enjoyed building my simple site over the years – so am hoping someone here can help? I am using a purchased theme, One Page Express PRO.

    Thank you for the video. NOTHING happens after I click on “the”+”, then “Social Icon” – there is no follow up screen to click on “+” and choose the social icons.

    Should I delete Jetpack Plugin and reload it? Is this a Jetpack plugin issue?

    Actually that Social icons block is not from Jetpack, it’s rather a built-in/core block of WordPress. So, deactivating Jetpack may not help.

    I would suggest creating a support topic here in general WordPress related issues.

    Hi I deactivated Jetpack and was able to see the Social Icon block in edit mode, and created a new set of Facebook, Insta, LinkedIn, and saved it. I was able to reuse it on other pages.

    BUT, it is not visible on the actual website in Google Chrome. But the block is visible via mobile and stealth mode in Google. I have cleared the cache several times in WP.

    If you can tell me whether you see the icons at the bottom of connect2self.com/about, that would be awesome.

    Base on this experience, I would say that Jetpack plugin is not working with WP for some reason.

    I first posted on the WP.org and someone told me to post here with my lack of social icon issues. Appreciate your replies and tips thus far. Thank you.

    Hi,

    The plot thickens. I researched a bit more. My AdBlocker Plus Chrome extension was blocking the Social Icon block from showing on the Chrome website and in WP. I disabled that for my websites and the icons are showing now.

    I cleared the cache on my website and Chrome like 10 times. Looks like that was the issue! Thanks again.
