Hi, I need help. I am not sure exactly if it’s Yoast plugin that is causing the error. When I try to share this post to Facebook, either through the social share button or copy paste to my wall, it just won’t display image or description. Just a plain link with my site name.

Before I came here to submit this issue, I’ve read other solved forums that have the same issue as mine. I spent two days already trying to figure out what causes this error. I’ve already deactivated all my plugins and switched a twenty-seventeen theme just like what you suggested here https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/

I used the facebook debug tool https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ and it says:

    Inferred Property
The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

    Missing Properties
    The following required properties are missing: og:url, og:type, og:title, og:image, og:description, fb:app_id

But, upon looking at those missing properties, they’re just all there.

MAYBE I was just doing it wrong or something.

I just want help. Almost all of my posts have the same error, EXCEPT for this one https://siadigitalmarketing.com/blogging-sites/

    Hey,

    I’ve just discovered this…

I made a new sample post and it turns out that it doesn’t have any error. It has an image and description. Here, take a look. https://imgur.com/a/kcM1P

So I guess, the only posts that will have image and description would be my very recent posts. Just like this one, https://siadigitalmarketing.com/blogging-sites/ because this is my most recent post.

And probably this has got to do with my upgrades, both my theme and plugin. The latter post was published AFTER i upgrade. (i guess)

So at least I know where to start. I just want somebody to help/guide me on this. Thanks in advance for the help. ??

    Hello @noaneo

    Thank you for helping me.

Yes, I did follow your suggestions. I created a Facebook app ID and pasted on my Yoast setting. I checked the image size and changed it to a recommended size.

However, it’s been resolved now and it’s my call.

I just created a NEW post, just like what I did with the sample post. Since I’ve been using a Layout Builder plugin, it’s so easy for me to simply copy the widgets without affecting the layout and content of my post.

And since my blog is still NEW, there’s nothing to worry about the traffic stats, for now, that got affected by transferring as a new post.

At first attempt, it didn’t resolve the issue after creating a new post. But when I changed the slug (different from the one that has an issue) it finally showed the featured image and description.

And that’s what I also did to my other posts.

Anyways, thank you for taking time to help me. ??

    Regards

    Hi,

I do not know “Layout Builder plugin”, I do not use.
Did you register “Facebook App ID:” in SEO> Social, then Facebook tab, line “Facebook App ID:”?

    – There are always errors on Debug

    – Property deducted
The og: image property must be specified explicitly, even though a value can be inferred from other tags.
    – Missing properties
The following required properties are missing: og: url, og: type, og: title, og: image, og: description, fb: app_id

    https://kb.yoast.com/kb/warning-fb-app-id-hasnt-been-included-in-the-meta-tags/

I will avoid carousels, Yoast discourages them

Maybe he’ll take a theme with a presentation page with disabling the slider, for example
