No image previews on Twitter

These tweets are automatically posted by this plugin. Both of those pages have featured images and I when tweet these links manually, Twitter shows the thumbnail image correctly.
Could you help please?

Tina,
All the posts on the site have featured images. They are just intentionally not shown on the post page. Please see the screenshot of the “Featured Image” box of the Admin Edit page for the link you posted:
Thumbnails used to work just fine. Nothing changed on our end. But the thumbnails have not been shown on Twitter since a few months ago for some reason.
Thanks.

Hi tinat,
SNAP Auto Poster tweets correctly displays the featured images though. Take a look at the following example:
Those both links are configured the exact same way. Both have featured images.
I am using a premium WP theme so I am guessing there is a script running in the background to hide the featured images from the post page. I remember unchecking a box in the theme settings which is the setting to show/hide featured images.
Allow me to clarify. This issue is related to the Buffer plugin. I don’t believe it is anything to do with the theme used on the site.
First, check out the below screenshot:

Twitter shows the featured image: YesHope it is clear now.
I think I know why Buffer posts do not show the featured image on Twitter because Buffer adds the following at the end of the URL.
?utm_content=buffer4c22a&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
Check it out yourself.

SNAP Auto Poster link on Twitter: https://twitter.com/hamimorg/status/943477483864776704Simply click on the each link and pay attention to the full URL in the browser address bar.
Thanks.
Hi @hamimdev, thank you so much for the detailed feedback. I will have our team lead take a look at this thread first thing tomorrow morning and we will respond a s soon as we can.
Thank and have a great day!
DejanHi @hamimdev,
We have analyzed your issue in detail and here are our findings:1. Although you have OG images set you are having a permission issue for on your site
“WARN: The image URL https://ha-mim.org/media/2015/09/Kelime-i-?ehadet-HamidAytac.jpg specified by the ‘twitter:image’ metatag may be restricted by the site’s robots.txt file, which will prevent Twitter from fetching it.” You can test it on your own by copy/pasting the URL of your page for example https://ha-mim.org/muhammedin-allahin-rasulu-olduguna-sehadet-etmek?utm_content=bufferd9207&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer to Twitter’s card validator: https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator2. SNAP is sharing your featured image and while doing that it’s not creating Twitter card but sharing image as “the image”. Please note that Twitter cards are preferred for any marketing needs and OG that’s one of the reasons why OG tags are being created so social networks like Twitter and Facebook can create something that looks best on their service rather than using the featured image that (may be or may not be) re-sized, by the third party service.
3. We offer sharing of featured images in the Pro version of our plugin together with an option to connect more than 3 social accounts with Buffer.
4. UTM parameters added by Buffer are just used for campaign tracking parameters and they are in no way breaking the look. You can find more info here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTM_parameters
5. If you are interested in Professional Solution that has even more options than Buffer and it has the deepest integration with WordPress than any other service please take a look at Social Web Suite. You can find in-depth analysis/review on BOBWP’s blog https://bobwp.com/social-suite/

@hamimdev Just a heads up, if the plugin author asks to login into anyone’s site then they will risk getting into real trouble here. That’s going too far and the author is aware of that.
@tinat, @dejanmarkovic, I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.
https://www.ads-software.com/support/guidelines/#the-bad-stuff
Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.
If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.
Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.
There are many ways to get information you need and accessing the user’s site is not one of them. That’s going too far.
- Ask for a link to the https://pasetbin.com/ log of the user’s web server error log.
- Ask the user to create and post a link to their
phpinfo();
output. - Ask the user to install the Health Check plugin and get the data that way.
- Walk the user through enabling WP_DEBUG and how to log that output to a file and how to share that file.
- Walk the user through basic troubleshooting steps such and disabling all other plugins, clear their cache and cookies and try again.
- Ask the user for the step-by-step on how they can reproduce the problem.
You get the idea.
Volunteer support is not easy. But these forums need to a safe place for all users, experienced or new. Accessing their system that way is a short cut that will get you into real trouble in these forums.
Final note: @dejanmarkovic, Please don’t use shortlinks here. If you want to link to an article it needs to be transparent.
