No images in visual editor, just box outline

    Since one of the last updates, whilst editing, I can’t see images that I’ve uploaded. In visual mode editing, there’s just a box outline with the alt or title tag words inside it.

    The images show up OK in the actual front-end post, but obviously one needs to be able to see them in the editor too.

    I should also say that the font appeared unstyled at the same time that I saw no image, so maybe that’s a clue.

    Very sorry for the delay.

    Have you made any additional progress with this issue? At first glance, it sounds like a plugin conflict.

    Have you tried temporarily deactivating all your other plugins, manually clearing your browser cache, and seeing if the issue persists?

    Sorry to be a pain – as I mentioned on Josh’s forum, the problem inexplicably righted itself, and I hadn’t installed or disabled plugins, or changed the site in any way in the interim. So I haven’t a clue why it happened. It stuck around for a day or so, so it was unlikely to be due to caches.

    I had assumed it was the TinyMCE editor, but as I say it’s working now so it can’t be. If the problem does reappear then I’ll do the logical thing and turn off plugins and switch them back on, one by one, checking for the probable conflict.

    Hi guys something similar going on with me. However I dont in all honesty think this is a plugin problem.

    I am getting outline box in visual editor, and nothing at all displayed in preview. The code is not stripped. What’s more and strangely if I copy the code from a previously published article (that still displays as it should) into a new post and preview it does not display. The code is not being stripped but it does not display. Hence a certain reluctance to expect plugin conflicts as both posts are subject to same.

    I have tried disabling all plugins, just in case however, but it makes no difference. Still at a loss at the moment.

    Hello Andy.
    What version of WP and UTMCE are you running? Also, did you try disabling absolutely all your plugins (except UTMCE) and revert to the default WordPress theme, TwentyTwelve, to make sure it’s not a plugin or theme incompatibility?
    If you have and are still experiencing problems, could you make a Pastebins of your visual editor page and your post page?

    Sorry I meant to make it clear, so given you a bit of a red herring:

    I disabled “all” plugins including UTMCE – the problem is still there – I don’t think it’s a plugin problem at all! Not of UTMCE making
