Through a series of issues, created by my provider, where the firewall was blocked and the database server was stopped, I now have an issue where all my images are not visible on my web page/dashboard.
I have done all updates suggested, so have WordPress 4.8–en_AU with NextGen 2.2.10.
My web page displays a message ‘no images were found’ (look at bottom of this page https://stainsbyte.com/wanderers-2017-2018/czech-republic/finding-beer-and-castles-in-plzen-and-svihov/)
The ‘Manage Galleries’ shows ‘No entries found’
The Overview shows “‘Congrats! You’re now running the most popular WordPress gallery plugin of all time. So far you’ve added 11554 images, 430 galleries, and 10 albums.”
Can you please give me advice on how to reconnect my images to my database.
    Many thanks in advance
    Thea

With help from an IT professional this problem has been solved. I will describe the fix for others who may have a similar experience.
The problem was caused when my provider (HostSailor) decided to implement a firewall. Unfortunately I was editing my website at the time.
The SQL error log was reporting… (multiple times)

170730 5:30:01 [ERROR] /usr/libexec/mysqld: Table ‘./admin_stainsbyte/wp_postmeta’ is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed

I checked the database and the table wp_postmeta was empty.
We searched StackOverflow and found the following solution:

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/8843776/mysql-table-is-marked-as-crashed-and-last-automatic-repair-failed

The first solution didn’t work, but the second solution described at this page reinstated the index for wp_postmeta table and fixed the problem.
