"No images were found" message

Hi. I include a NextGen gallery in thumbnail mode at the bottom of each post on our blog. I’ve discovered several posts where the message “no images were found” is displayed instead of the thumbnails, yet most posts display normally. Each post with the error message contains the correct short code, and the referenced gallery displays normally when previewing the post – however, the error message is still there both when reverting to the normal view and when updating the post. I get the same behavior in IE and Safari. I cleared the gallery cache and got one affected post to display normally but then found two more that still had the error message – refreshing the page got one of those to correctly display but had no effect on the other. These are the first issues I’ve ever encountered with the NextGen plugin, which has worked flawlessly until now. Any help is appreciated – thanks. Using version 2.0.40 under WP 3.8.1, theme Weaver II Pro.
