I have just installed the GD bbpress Attachments plugin. My settings have a Max File Size of 512kB.
If I try to attach a file to my reply which is larger than 512kB I get no indication that I am breaking the rules. My reply simply gets published without the attachment.

Q: Is there any way I can tell the user that his file is too big, preferably BEFORE he submits his reply?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

My GD bbPress Toolbox Pro plugin contains enhanced attachments upload that previews and validate files before upload (for size, type – and you can limit allowed file types too). You can check it out here: https://plugins.dev4press.com/gd-bbpress-toolbox/.

There are no plans for free GD bbPress Attachments plugin to get such feature.

    Regards,
    Milan

    Hi Milan,

Thanks for your update. Clearly your plugin is extremely feature rich and I’m sure that, in other circumstances, it would be a good investment.

However, in my case, the forum is being used on the community web site of a small (300 residents) Village. There is no way I can justify $50 per annum simply to warn my (often techno-illiterate) users that the file they are about attach is too large.

    Geoff
