It tells me: “No user was successfully imported, please check the error log.”

I’ve used the example form. There are no extra commas. No funny characters except a number in the password. I have no additional columns beyond role. This is student data so I can’t share the file. Why is there no info in the error log if it isn’t importing? Does Excel do something to the files? I’ve opened in textedit and resaved to clear any garbage Excel might add, but that didn’t help. Also resaved in BBEdit. Nada. With 50 new users I am thinking of adding manually with all the time I’ve put into troubleshooting this. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Site is here: https://go.distance.ncsu.edu/digitalimaging Thanks!

  • I had the same error “No user was successfully imported, please check the error log.” and the file log was empty.

After a while I got it working; instead of using ; for separating columns in the csv I used a comma. Then it uploaded correctly.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for responding! I did try that. Tried quotes opening and closing commas. Tried just one line of a user. Just wouldn’t go. Opened and resaved in text edit to make sure Excel didn’t add any funky characters. Ultimately, a colleague computer science guy uploaded on his Windows machine (I’m on a mac) and it worked! So silly! Gotta love web tech, though. Often makes no sense at all, eh?

    Same issue here.
