No input file specified

  • It was suddenly impossible to reach my webpage this morning. The only thing I received was a “No input file specified”.

    My webhotel Support Team told me that my .htaccess was too long and too complicated due to the iThemes Security Plugin, and they recommended me to create a new .htaccess with the wordpress standard only. So I did and now everything is functioning again(?)

    I know I deleted some iThemes Security “Do not modify or remove”. Questions:
    1) Will iThemes redo what was deleted?
    2) I have a backup of the old .htaccess . How do I do a correct cleanup?
