• My site was running fine with WP5.5 installed, Elementor and JetEngine were also active. Suddenly when editing a post, everything changed. As I went through the admin I saw dashboard and other pages were entirely blank. The WP admin still loaded, but there was nothing in the page content area. Click edit post, a single word “Test” appears on an otherwise white screen. It appears to be showing the “no js” element, but the full message does not appear.

I have deactivated every single plugin. The site currently is running 0 plugins and the TwentyTwenty theme. Still, there seems to be no JS loading in the admin.

I have replaced every single file on the server after downloading the WP5.5 and running an FTP sync operation. No change.

I see no console JS errors.

I have debug turned on, and the only clue is this deprecated notice that appears on every load.

Thanks I did find and check those steps before but unfortunately that did not help this site. I’ve upgraded other sites to 5.5 on the same server for comparison and those work fine.

What I see on the main dashboard page under Chrome inspector, watching the network for JS files loading is that only 2 JS files load. On other sites that number is higher, at least some core JS files are not loading in the dashboard. No PHP errors, and I can see that all JS is rendered through to the closing body tag.

Those JS files that load are load-scripts.php and then wp-emoji-release.min.js.

I’ve double-checked all the core JS files are in place on the server.
