    Hello,

I have installed Email Users plugin and is very impressed with this. One thing bothers me though. When sending email to users the email have no line breaks.

The message editor looks ok, the preview looks ok for the post part of the message, but the pre-message has no line breaks.

And when sending email, the fully email has no line breaks when recieved by user.

    Can this be fixed?

Are you sending a post or page notification or just simply using the plugin to send your users or groups an email?

    I’m sending a post notfication.

In theory, it should look exactly like it does when viewed on a web page. I’ve seen some email clients, including Outlook, remove line breaks from email. I still get newsletters from time to time where Outlook reports that “line breaks have been removed from this message, click here to restore” or something to that effect.

Have you verified the problem happens in more than one email client? Does it look the same in Gmail as it does on your Phone as it does in your email client?

    Hi,

I have tested now. It’s the same problem with Gmail. In someway the plugin removes the linebreaks before sending the email.

    Hi again,

One more interesting detail is that before sending the email, the preview shows the pre-message with no linebreaks, and the post with linebreaks.

After sending the email, the preview changes to no linebreaks for both pre-message and the post.

I’ve just done some tests and can’t replicate what you are reporting.

On the Email Users settings page is your mail format set to HTML or Plain Text?

The only other thing I can think of is another plugin has a filter which is affecting the text.

    Hi again,

I have now tested this plugin on another wordpress page, that is WordPress 4.0 and none of the same plugins, except Akismet plugin (but I tried inactive, no difference).

Same results, tried both Outlook and Gmail.

Yes, in preferences there is HTML marked as format.

What theme are you using? Can you send me the post notification email?

Using different themes in different wordpress pages, same problem.

Now the emails have stopped, it says sent but they never come throught. In debug mode it says: Mail sending aborted.

Other mailfunction works from the page. What could have happened?

In debug mode the email is never sent. The purpose of debug mode is to allow you to examine the mail headers and content at a low level before it is dispatched to the underlying OS.

What debug does is enable a hook which is part of PHPMailer (what WordPress uses to handle email) to catch the email and prevent it from being sent. This is very useful when debugging mailing issues where you don’t want to spam your list of users but want to see if everyone you think should be receiving your email appears in the header.

If you want to add me as a user to your site and send me a post notification, you can get me at mpwalsh8 at gmail dot com.

Must have been some temporary problem, cause, now I can send emails again. I have solved the main issue with using the plugin toghether with WP Better Emails plugin and send in plain text format, works pretty well now. ??

    Thanks!
