    Hello,

As with most people using this plugin, I am trying to get link previews to work on Facebook. Sometimes I get a preview box but no image, sometimes I get absolutely nothing.

Here is one sample link that doesn’t produce anything upon preview:
    https://kangaroopunches.com/multnomah-whiskey-library/

When I run it through the Facebook Debugger it says:

Critical Errors That Must Be Fixed
Bad Response Code URL returned a bad HTTP response code.
    Warning
    Errors That Must Be Fixed
Missing Required Property The ‘og:type’ property is required, but not present.

Thank you for any help you can provide!

    I also see the error:

Object at URL ‘https://kangaroopunches.com/multnomah-whiskey-library/’ of type ‘article’ is invalid because it specifies multiple ‘og:url’ values: https://kangaroopunches.com/multnomah-whiskey-library/, https://kangaroopunches.com/multnomah-whiskey-library/.

Do I have conflicting plugins providing og:url info? If so, why didn’t it work before installing Facebook Thumb Fixer?

Thank you again for your help!

    Hi Kenty,

This isn’t the fault of any one plug-in, but rather because of conflicting open graph tags.

Looking at the source code of your homepage I can see there are two different sets of open-graph tags being output (view the source and search for og:). You’ll always get problems while this is the case. The only way to solve it is to disable either my plug-in or whatever other one is outputting those tags.

Let me know how you go.

    Good luck!

It seems to only work once in awhile so I thought your plugin would fix it but still not working consitently. Hmm, do you know of a common plugin that interferes? If not, I’ll just start turning them off and trying that Debugger I guess.

Thank you for your help, Michael!

Yeah that’s pretty much all you can do – disable one at a time until you only see one set of open graph tags.

Also bear in mind those tags could be part of your theme. The first thing I’d try is disabling all plugins and see if the tags are still there. If they go away, then you know it’s going to be a plugin conflict.

    Have fun ??
