No location box under Screen Options

  • I have recently started a blog with oxygen theme.

    1) I cannot activate my slider as I do not have the option to tick the Location Box under Screen Options (it is not there at all). How can I activate this so I can get my slider working and get a home page and posts page?

    2) I want to know how to make a menu down the left hand side of my page, with images that link to websites/articles. Please let me know how I can do this. I’ve looked in widgets and it allows us to create a drop down menu, a blogroll or an image but no links with an image as the front.

    I hope this makes sense. Any assistance would be extremely appreciated!
