I used to be able to easily duplicate my web story so I could use it as a template to create more. I designed my web stories for branding and they take forever to create because of how poor the Web Stories plugin interface is. It is NOT user friendly. Where is the option to duplicate my stories, set it to draft and use it as a template?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @sbarker13 thanks for opening a support topic with us. Sorry to hear you’re having trouble creating Story templates. You can duplicate your Stories from the Dashboard by selecting the options for a Story and choose to duplicate.

Is this what you are looking to do and if so do you have this option for your Stories? Or are you looking to save individual Story pages as templates? If so then you can do this by selecting the Story page while editing, got to Insert > Page Templates and Save current page as template.

If you are facing any issues with these options please do let me know and provide some more details and I’d be happy to assist you with that.

@sbarker13 Can I also check that you are running the latest version of the Web Stories plugin? The latest version is 1.26.0 so if you are not running this please update and the issues being faced with duplicating templates should be fixed.

After the update, I can duplicate my stories, but now my cover image will not show when I try to create a new story. I have to say out of all the plugins I’ve used, this is the absolute worst one and has given me nothing but problems since its inception. I completely gave up trying to make stories and thought after a year there might be some improvement but here I am again with nothing but frustration. I could be making this in 10 minutes if the plugin actually worked like it was supposed to.

Here is my web stories page, as you’ll see the Pumpkin Panna Cotta cover image does not show https://www.cuisineandtravel.com/web-stories/

The image was removed from the s3 server and hosted on my ser ver so there is no reason it should not work. Just two days ago everything worked just fine until the “duplicate” feature went missing and I updated the plugin. Now the cover images wont load.

Also why is every image distorted. You should be able to crop an image and enlarge it without the image coming distorted. These are simple tasks that would take less than 20 seconds to do in Canva and they do not work properly in this plugin. Every single image comes out distorted.

@sbarker13 When checking your Stories archive page you shared I can see all the cover images including the Pumpkin Panna Cotta cover image. Are you still having issues seeing this? If so do you get the same when viewing from an incognito browser window?
