No Longer Able to Write Post

  • I am no longer able to write a post on my blog.

    The last article ID was 144.

    After that I could not save a draft, or publish any posting. I was able to post earlier that day.

    Any idea?

    I am running WordPress 2.0.2 at this moment.

    37prime – are there any error messages or behaviors you could share?

    What changed between when you could write a post and couldn’t? Any new plugins? Software upgrades?

    There haven’t been any changes that I know of at all.

    The blog itself is hosted and installed by Yahoo! service.

    I tried to manually upgrade WordPress before, but it didn’t work. Somehow there must be something specific with Yahoo! hosting and WordPress. That was 6 months ago.

    It has been working fine until yesterday. I was posting a few entries. For some reason I could not publish or save the entry past the ID=144

    I still could modify or delete existing entries.

    Do you know the proper procedure to Upgrade WordPress hosted and initially installed by Yahoo! hosting?

    Ah yes, I’ve been there, done that before sigh.. Um, do you have the wp-cache plugin enabled by any chance?

    I will troubleshoot a little bit more before I submit the help request.

    I wonder what really happened.

    Well, the main culprit is the 2.0.2 version, 2.0.3 isn’t any better either sigh. There ARE alot of crappy issues with those two versions, and people seriously need to upgrade their blogs from them two versions.. to 2.0.4 ??

    Thank you for the help.

    I figured out what went wrong with it. Yahoo! has a non-standard MySQL configuration. I had to rebuild the database.

    Next time I might ask if you can help upgrading it to newer WordPress version.

    I actually open a new account @ WordPress.com – just in case Yahoo! db gone wacky again.
