• This needs patches to stop it from triggering errors. No longer developed as far as I can see.

Find the latest version (which is not this one!)

Additionally I have a spurious redirect loop happing on two of my domains. Switching to Mercator by humanmade fixed it, although that plugin currently immature and has issues of its own.

Install the development version. If you want any furthered assistance you’ll need to provide details on the errors.

Domain mapping is being added to WP core over the next few major releases. We will not be adding any new features to the plugin.

Great news! Thanks for announcing it.

There has been core work done in this area since 3.9. There is a domain mapping plugin available that makes use of this, called “Mercator”, though it’s not yet at the full capability of *this* plugin.

This version will work, but as stated before: for best compatibility, do not use this, get the very latest trunk version. It appears the developer is not ready to release it here, so you’ll have to go find it in the repository (link?). There’s also a link to a patched version in the tutorial, which is linked from the read me file.

I did release it a few days ago. The development version and 0.5.5 are identical.

Since the last update this plugin broke compatibility with WPMU Multisite Privacy Plugin. When you choose “Anyone that visits must first provide this password” in WPMU Multisite Privacy Plugin it redirects to the normal WP login page instead of showing the page.

[ Redacted, please do not post passwords into posts ]

I also wrote this at WPMU Dev forums: Domain Mapping – https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/multisite-privacy-plugin-password-protectin-not-working-anymore#post-786047

They had a dimilar bug in their own Domain Mapping Plugin causing redirect loop in sub-site’s login when original admin/login pages are forced to have https and subdomain has mapped domain. It seems they have fixed this issue in version 4.2.0.5. It seems they are willing to share their fix.

Btw: Great to hear that Domain Mapping will find it’s way into core! Thanks so much for this plugin Ron Rennick!
