No longer Super Admin

    Hi,
    My MultiSite install has changed my permissions/password? So now I cannot access the core network – to add sites, install plugins and themes.

    My host said it may be a faulty WP install – I have had it for months and it was fine. Or It could be a security plugin – that my host has since deactivated.

    Any ideas, and help, is appreciated.

  • Have you tried the reset password link under the WordPress login box? Also, you should try deactivating your plugins to make sure a plugin isn’t causing this error.

    Using phpMyAdmin, select the database, in wp_options (or whatever_options) look for the super admin user, select edit, for user_pass select md5 and enter a new password.

    Don’t forget to save.

    This will reset your password.

    My host tech changed my password. But it still does not give me access to the network core – themes, plugins, add sites. “Plugins” do not even appear on my admin menu at all.

    Hi,
    I just noticed that there is no longer user “Super Admin” at all, which was my name. There is just one user – an Administrator, “adm” which is me.

    I sent this to my host tech support. I will update since I started this thread. Sorry.

    Look in the *_sitemeta table there is a meta key called site_admins, its value should indicate your current network admin user. It looks like this:

    a:1:{i:0;s:5:"noumd";}

    In the above case, noumd is the username for the network admin and 5 from s:5 indicates the length of this username.
