No media attachment possible

  • Hi guys,

    love yout plugin! I think i found a quite bad big bug.
    Situation: WP 4.8.1, standard 2017 theme, no other plugins but Polylang active.
    First language of my site ist german, second english.
    Copied all the contents in source mode from german to english.
    On the german page, the media gallery (wp orginal) is working fine.
    On the english page, no gallery is showing up.
    When trying to insert media from the library in the english page, error says “no media files found”.
    As soon as i deactivate Polylang, all the Gallery images show up again and also inserting into the page through “add media” is possible again.

    Non productive homepage so far, url and admin on request by PM.

    Hello Frank.
    This is not a bug, this is logic ?? Means, you didn’t translate the media files.
    If you copy the post content from DE to EN in source mode you keep the same media ids. But, the media ids from the German content are also German. Means, they won’t be shown in other languages.
    So, you have to “translate” first the media then add the new media ids corresponding to the post language in the gallery.
    That’s it ??

    somehow after deactivating polylang and reactivating it several times it’s working now…even in the english version the images from the german source are beeing displayed now…did i trigger media translation somehow? no idea ….

    correct way would be upgrade to pro, copy page to english? i only can achive this in the pro version?
