No member directory display after WP 5.5 update

  • After recently updating the WP core to 5.5 the member directory display appears to no longer function. I tried creating new directories after the update and still no display with the new shortcodes on various pages. The page loads including search boxes and sorting options – just no members.

    I downgraded the WP core to 5.4.2 and the member directories display just fine.

    NOTE: I am running Ultimate member Version 2.1.7 and cleared all caches as well as exempted the appropriate directories from being cached.

  • What theme are you using and have you tried a default theme?

    This right there!! I may try that solution to downgrade the wordpress version!! I looked everywhere and it had to be bad timing that I was about to activate Members Directory and it doesn’t work! I hope this helps alot! I will let you know if downgrading helps!

    Hmm. I downgraded to WP 5.4.2 and cleared cache. It still seems not to work or show anything at all.

    @wthyde What theme do you have? I seem to figured out the cause it is my theme. My theme is Refined News by candid Theme.

    @mbmcallister33 Two instances, both are custom themes – one based on Weaver Extreme. I had the same problem (no member directory display) when I switched to Twenty Twenty while I was troubleshooting.

    Key point for me is that all worked well with WP 5.4.2 and the latest version of UM. Core update to 5.5 caused something to “go broke” ??

    This is the first time I’ve had this issue after running UM for some time applying latest updates (core and plugins) as they came out.

    @wthyde That is strange! I started a new wordpress and installed only ultimate member with twenty nineteen and it showed up perfectly fine in WP 5.5. It was my theme itself.
