We looked at your front page and we see the Yoast SEO plugin is generating the SEO meta correctly. However, we see the description meta isn’t appearing. Please, make sure that you’ve added the meta description directly from the Yoast SEO → Titles & Metas → Homepage (tab).

    Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. We have updated the content in the describe tab. That s fine.

One other question: we would like to define meta of a product by: “description of the product” plus “Name of the artist (Künstler)” plus “title of the product”.

printscreen settings product page (tab “Artikeltypen” / type of products): https://picload.org/view/dgwcogoa/bildschirmfoto2017-10-23um10.5.png.html
    printscreen settings tab taxonomies: https://picload.org/view/dgwcogor/bildschirmfoto2017-10-23um10.5.png.html

How do we need to save the settings of your plugin to achieve this?

    Thank you for your feedback

    Regards
    Philipp

    Hi,

We are not familiar with all the template variables which may be available in your set-up. We only know that in the meta description field you may need to have a template variable which outputs a description (this could be the %%excerpt%% variable or something else unique to your set-up), a template variable which outputs the name of the artist (this is probably a variable unique to your set-up) and then %%title%% which should output the title of the product.

We would suggest speaking with the plugin responsible for outputting a product description and artist and confirming they have template variables available. If they do you may expect Yoast to be able to output it. Note, that under some circumstances you may need to use a custom variable.

This guide explains more about template variables and how to use them: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/yoast-wordpress-seo-titles-metas-template-variables
