I always dread installing updates for this one, but I decided to go ahead. Sure enough, after the update I cannot get into the admin dash on any site on the multisite. It always goes to a 404 page.

I can get in if I rename the plugin folder.

I tried the Code Snippets safe mode line in the config file, but that didn’t do anything.

Then I enabled WP-debug and changed the Code Snippets folder back to normal.. same problem. But after renaming the folder again I can get back in and see the errors below in the debug log.

I don’t know if those errors are from the Code Snippets plugin, but they are the only errors in there.

So now I need to go and to figure out how to downgrade.

FYI, on the single site WP instance that I also upgraded, this is not happening.

P.s. I’m putting this issue here in the support forum because I never get any response from the support email listed somewhere on the main site.

    Regards
    Rob

Adding to this – I copied the plugin folder for the previous 3.5.1 release out from my backup and into the multisite’s plugin folder, leaving the renamed 3.6.1 folder in place. That lets me get back into the admin dash.

Now the plugins page tells me I have Code Snippets Pro 3.5.1 and Code Snippets Pro (Premium) 3.6.1 installed, but only the 3.5.1 is activated and it appears to be licensed.

So I’m back online again, but obviously need to sort this out. I’ll sit tight.

    Hi Rob,

Sorry to hear this has happened to you. Unfortunately, this isn’t something we encountered at all during our testing.

If you need a copy of an older version to get things back and running, let us know and we can sort you out there.

Is it sufficient to copy the 351 plugin folder back into the site as I described or do I need to do something else… it seems to be working, just that there are now two versions of the plugin listed on my plugins page and obviously I can’t update unless something is sorted out.

I suspect a bug we fixed in version 3.6.2 was the culprit here. Please let us know if you still encounter issues after upgrading.

I’ve upgraded to 3.6.3 and it didn’t crash the Admin like 3.6.1. did, so that’s good.

I’m going to test the issue I had reported in the ticket ‘Cannot save for individual site activation – status code 500’ now and will reply on that thread.

    Thanks
    Rob
