No 'New Post' Button

Just installed this and love the look!
Alas, when I navigate into the forum, there is no way (no button or other control) to start a new post. Logged in and created a group for the forum and made myself a member of that group OK)
What does it take to make a ‘new post’ or similar button appear so people can contribute – even as the admin, I cannot create the first post…
