No new registration option ( s2member)

I’m building a membership wordpress site, using s2member.
The will be NO registration page on the site as such, since member registration will be handled solely by the admin. I have an exel members database. I know that I can import members (150 members) into s2member. However, this will not send password to the members, unless you register the members manually. Don’t really fancy that. ??
So, I’m thinking: A newsletter blast to all members, go to this pagelink and register and they are the password. So fare, so good. But the standard login page has a “Register” option next to “Forgot password”.
QUESTION: Can this “Register” option be turned off on this page?
“Anyone can register” has been unticked in “Settings/ General”
What have I missed?
Any help is appriciated.
