I set up a WP site and installed the latest NG Gallery plugin, among others, to test it and see which I liked best. I couldn’t figure out how to insert a gallery in a post. I checked the documentation and it says, “You can add galleries to posts or pages…by clicking the NextGEN icon above your post or page editor.”

I don’t see a NextGEN icon when creating a post or page in site admin. I have the Add Media button but that only allows me to insert a single image from an existing gallery. I also have a Gallery menu in the menu/tool bar at the top but it’s just a copy of the options from the Gallery menu in the left column. I’m using the Twenty Twelve theme but that shouldn’t affect the admin side, should it?

    What am I missing?

    Thanks,
    Joe

    I should add the following:
    – Creating albums and galleries works just fine
    – I have no idea what a shortcode is nor how to use one

I found the icon. Working fine. The instructions should be amended to state that the icon is integrated with the formatting controls of the editor.
