As other users have pointed out, the free version of Smush has no undo button!
This plugin has crashed my entire site, years of work. Absolute incompetence or untrustworthiness on the part of the developers

Hey there,
Smush will not touch the original files and a Regenerate Thumbnail plugin will restore the original thumbnails.
You can either use the ‘bulk restore’ function on Smush, as outlined in our documentation here:

Or use a thumbnail regeneration plugin via www.ads-software.com
