No Notifications although Test Email Comes through Fine

Hi there,

Many thanks for making this plugin – it is super useful. However I have had an issue recently where the plugin is not send me notifications of plugin and core updates.

I can confirm there is no problem with the email sending through wp_mail() as other emails are flowing normally including sending the test email on the settings page.

I do have my site under version control and deployment and with this in mind I have got DISALLOW_FILE_MODS set to true to prevent auto updates having on the live site so that I can control these in the version controlled repository.

Could this stop the plugin actually checking for plugins needing updates etc?
