No og:image for attachment pages in 7.4

Same problem here !
og:image is doesn’t add to the HEAD. Twitter image is here.

I can confirm the same issue on Yoast SEO 7.4.1. It doesn’t matter which page template WordPress uses – meta “og:image” tag is missing from the head.

I confirm that this is NOT fixed in version 7.4.1 – the og:image tag is STILL missing from attachment pages (media items).

I’m running a photography website and use single attachment pages a lot and share them on social media. I’m reverting back to version 7.3 – again…

I’m confused.

This was working just fine in 7.3 – whatever you did in 7.4 broke it. Why do you now need a USER to jump through all these hoops to file a bug report? You have developers who know what changed between 7.3 and 7.4, no?

After further investigation with this issue using Yoast SEO v7.4, when a featured image is too large, we attempt to fall back to a more suitable size. It appears that there may be scenarios where this is failing, and as a result, the og:image tag is not output.

Just upgraded to 7.4.2 from 7.4.1 and this tag og:image still does not output. It was all working at 7.2 its really annoying!

Is it possible to downgrade back to 7.2 ?

@covertformula what is the URL of the post/page that’s missing the og:image?

@benvaassen I’ve downgraded back to 7.2 now as this is a live site which needs to work when shared with social media.

Based upon what others are saying about this issue it seems like the problem is all round the image size… if your feature image size is larger than a ? then the og:image tag is omitted.

This needs to be fixed ASAP.
