• I am unable to login to my website because I forgot my password… So, when I select “Forgot Password” I am redirected to a screen that says “disabled”. My boss and I logged in with her account and tried to edit my settings. But, there isn’t an option to create a new password on the “Users Your Profile Screen”…. We even tried deleting my user and creating a new one, but there still wasn’t the option to add a password.

    Can someone help!??

  • Were you able to delete your account?

May be your boss and you aren’t administrators for the site. There are quite a few roles that account holders of your site can have, You can find more about the roles and their capabilities here .

An Administrator or a Super admin will be the person who will be able to help you with your password reset.

Yes I was able to delete my user. We are both admins to the account. Also, I went through the WordPress website to change my password (emailed me a new password) and I tried to login that way with no luck. And now my boss can’t login to the site…

    What is going on??

What is your site url? is there any other user profiles besides you and your boss on the site? if there are what is the role that is attributed to that user?

The site is part of our Intranet, so you won’t be able to view it externally. The only other user is also an administrator.

Could you check if the other administrator is able to reset your password. Last option would be to login to phpmyadmin and create users i guess.

    Andrew:
I have seen that. I tried to go with the first option with the Admin panel, but the two boxes for password and confirm password aren’t there….

    Saravanan:
The only other admin doesn’t know their password…. I don’t think I have access to the database via phpMyAdmin… Any other ideas?

Also, how could my bosses password get changed when I changed my password?

Could you try using the FTP mode or using the emergency password script. I would try the emergency password script only if I am sure that the emails from the site are working as expected.

I was able to login using the third admin’s credentials. However, there is not an option for me to change my password… See the screenshot below. We are currently running WordPress 3.5.1 Could this be the issue on why the option to create a new password isn’t showing up? I’ve tried clearing my cache and deleting my cookies..

Can anyone offer an explanation as to why I don’t have the option to change passwords as an administrator? I’ve updated to the most current version of WordPress and am still having this issue….
