• Hello,

I use Ultimate Member for our company to create a page where you can find all the employers who worked for the company. They employers can login from the companysite.

I created all the profiles of the employers by myself (as admin). So I filled all information as name, function, birthday etc.

I also add the profile photo of some employers, but i have a question about that. I can only add a new profile photo, but i can’t change the profile photo. This option isn’t available. The button of this option is not visible. I try by clicking on the current photo, but nothing happens. It just stay on the current page.

In WordPress self, by Users, I can change all information like function, birthday etc, but here i can’t also not change my picture.

How can I as admin or as member change the profile picture? I checked every option (i think) and every option is on ‘enable’.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @groothuis,

Changing profile photo is only possible while you are on the edit profile dialog.
You should be able to change profile photo by clicking on the Edit profile option under the cog icon and then click on the profile photo.

    Regards.

Thanks for replying, but what can i do to get in the edit profile dialog?
Shouldn’t I always be active in the edit profile dialog as an admin?

For example I want to change this profile photo:
    https://snag.gy/0nzEto.jpg
    https://snag.gy/cFwyk1.jpg

But I can’t find the option to change the photo.

Where can I change it? How wil I get to the edit page? Is there a link?

    Hi @groothuis,

If you don’t see the “cog” icon on the right side of the page, please do a conflict test by switching to the default WordPress theme and disabling all plugins except Ultimate member and see if this issue goes away. Here is the doc on how to do a conflict test if you are not sure.

    Regards.

    Hello,
i would like to change the place of the photo in the profile because it covers the name.
It is on the right and i would like it to be on the left.
Is it possible? If it is possible how can i do it.

    Thanks in advance.

Same issue. I have completed a conflict test, changed to default theme, reinstalled the plugin. Members can still not edit profiles? Any help would be appreciated.

Same issue. It was a real pain to clone my site to run your conflict test. I have also sent you an email asking if there are known plugins that cause conflicts. No answer. It seems that many people have the same issue. What is your solution?

I was having this same issue. Took me ages to get it to work. Not saying that you had the same problem but for me it wasn’t a plugin conflict it was a use role related issue in Ultimate member. I went into the Settings->user role and then for the role of the user make sure ‘Can edit their profile?’ is checked. That was it for me…

Also had this issue. Like Steve, it was a user role issue. Looks like if a plugin adds a user role (outside the default WP role structure) the UM plugin by default ignores it BUT does allow you to add permissions. For instance, Woocommerce “customer” role was ignored, as well as my job board roles. Check user roles FIRST before doing the dreaded “conflict” test!

    Hi,
I also have this issue. Cog icon is not shown in user page so I cannot edit profiles.
I have completed a conflict test and switched to the default WP theme. Please help.

See my above comment. Make sure your user can “edit profile” in Ultimate member user roles settings.

The problem that I had was a little bit weird. My background colour was set as white, but the colour of the icon ‘edit profile’ was also white, so i never could see the button/icon ‘edit profile’.

Yes, my users can edit their profile but the cog icon is not shown at all. I am th eadministrator, I have full permissions, but I cannot edit my profile because this issue.

It does not depend on the background colour, in this case the pointer should change its shape when the mouse hovers the active link, but it does not happen. The cog icon is missing.

In addition, there is no information under the user picture. “This user has not added any information to their profile yet” is displayed, but this is not true.

Its the user role @steveattwell talks about above

I had not noticed any problem as an admin because the option was turned on for me… my testing crew found the bug and I was freaking out…. Thanks to steve I only have to update 50 roles…LOL
