• Hi. I have seven WP instances running on my server. I just upgraded six to 4.0 with no problem at all. The last one however does not have the one-click upgrade link showing.

    [Dashboard _ Updates _ Check again] does nothing. It’s just sat there on 3.9.2.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    My role is Administrator Amado.

    Just thinking about any differences between this one and the others, and the only thing I can think of is that this is the only one with integrating Buddypress.

    Oh well. Waiting 24 hours did nothing. Too hopeful the upgrade link would just appear.

    Still wondering what causes this… but guess I need to undertake a manual upgrade right?

    I’ve added the following to wp-config.php:

    define('FS_METHOD', 'direct');
    define('WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE', true );

    I was so convinced this would work based on my web research, but alas no. Agh!

    Wow, must be the only person out there with no access to the one-click upgrade.

    I guess I’ll be following the manual instructions. But I wonder, is the unexplained absence of the one-click upgrade persistent? Will I have to do every upgrade from here on in manually?

    Hmm. The plugin background update tester tells me:

    PASS: Your WordPress install can communicate with www.ads-software.com securely.
    PASS: No version control systems were detected.
    PASS: Your installation of WordPress doesn’t require FTP credentials to perform updates.
    PASS: All of your WordPress files are writable.

    Weird.
