    Hello,

since the latest update, i can’t access the parent folders outside my wordpress installation ?! …

If i change the public root path in the options to my own value e.g. /customers/123456/, i get the error “invalid backend configuration, readable volumes not available” …

My WordPress Multisite is hosted under /customers/123456/sites/wp_multisite …

If i leave the public root path blank, i can access only the data of the “./wp_multisite/” childs…

I need help to access the parent directories and parent data…

    Hey Wile C,

    Thank you for reaching out.

In the latest update, we have implemented security measures that restrict access beyond the root directory for enhanced protection. While you can customize the folder displayed in the file manager by specifying a path after the default root directory, navigating beyond this specified root directory is intentionally restricted.

If you have any concerns or specific needs regarding access to parent directories or data, please let us know, and we’ll do our best to assist within the confines of our security protocols.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

    Warms Regards,

Oh, I see. Everything worked fine up to version 7.2.1.

I use the WP File Manager to maintain my entire web server, not just my WordPress installation.

A function to access parent directories would be important for me. I don’t actually have anything to do within the WordPress installation.

Maybe you could add a switch that prohibits parent directories by default, but can be switched off after a warning message so that you have the complete root again?

Unfortunately, the current version of the file manager doesn’t support the functionality that you are requesting.
We have removed it due to security reasons and It is not feasible for us to add it back again through a switch.

If you have any other questions, you may connect with us at [email protected].

    Thanks for your understanding.
