No pictures visible on homepage

Choose the picture as the post’s featured image. You can find the option to choose a featured image for a post somewhere in the bottom-right corner of the post edit page.

What does: “Featured Image in Full Post Displays” means?

When “Featured Image in Full Post Displays” is ‘on’, the featured image is displayed below the post title in full post displays (single posts and pages), just as it’s displayed in the home page. But some users may not want this, they would rather include the image manually, maybe somewhere in the middle of the post. These users can turn off this option and include the image manually if and wherever they want.
